Language and Literature for the IB MYP: A Concept-Based Approach
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a challenging and engaging five-year programme of study for students aged 11-16. The MYP Language and Literature course is a core subject that aims to develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in a variety of contexts. The course is based on a concept-based approach, which means that students learn about key concepts through the study of different texts and genres.
The IB MYP Language and Literature course is based on six key concepts:
- Communication: Students explore the ways in which language is used to communicate meaning and ideas.
