The ATI TEAS exam is a standardized test that is required for admission to many nursing programs. The exam is designed to assess your academic skills in reading, math, science, and English. It is also used to measure your critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The TEAS exam is a computerized adaptive test, which means that the difficulty of the questions will adjust based on your performance. The exam is divided into four sections:

  • Reading
  • Math
  • Science
  • English

Each section of the exam is timed, and you will have a total of 205 minutes to complete the entire exam.

What to Expect on Test Day

On test day, you will need to arrive at the testing center at the time that is specified on your registration ticket. You will need to bring a valid form of identification, such as a driver's license or passport. You will also need to bring a pencil and calculator.

Once you have checked in, you will be taken to a computer station. You will be given a brief tutorial on how to use the computer and the testing software. Once you have completed the tutorial, you will begin the exam.

The exam is divided into four sections, and you will have a time limit for each section. The time limits are as follows:

  • Reading: 60 minutes
  • Math: 53 minutes
  • Science: 59 minutes
  • English: 33 minutes

You will be able to see the time remaining for each section at the top of the screen. You can also skip questions and come back to them later.

Once you have completed all of the questions in a section, you will be given the option to review your answers. You can also change your answers if you wish.

Once you have completed all of the sections of the exam, you will be given an unofficial score report. Your official score report will be sent to you via email within a few days.

How to Prepare for the TEAS Exam

The best way to prepare for the TEAS exam is to take a practice test. This will help you get a feel for the format of the exam and the types of questions that you will be asked. You can find practice tests online or in books.

You should also review the content of the exam. The TEAS exam covers a wide range of topics, so it is important to make sure that you are familiar with all of the material.

Here are some specific tips for preparing for each section of the exam:

  • Reading: Read a variety of texts, including news articles, magazine articles, and scientific papers. Practice answering comprehension questions and identifying the main idea of a passage.
  • Math: Review basic math concepts, such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Practice solving word problems and interpreting graphs and charts.
  • Science: Review basic science concepts, such as biology, chemistry, and physics. Practice answering questions about scientific experiments and interpreting data.
  • English: Review basic grammar and usage rules. Practice identifying errors in sentences and correcting them.

In addition to taking practice tests and reviewing the content of the exam, you should also get a good night's sleep before the exam and eat a healthy breakfast on test day.

What to Do on Test Day

On test day, there are a few things that you can do to help yourself perform your best:

  • Arrive at the testing center on time.
  • Bring a valid form of identification and a pencil and calculator.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Get a good night's sleep.
  • Stay calm and confident.

The TEAS exam is a challenging exam, but it is also a fair exam. If you prepare adequately, you can achieve a high score on the exam and increase your chances of being accepted to nursing school.
